To solve the problem of rural power grid cables being easily gnawed by termites in southern China, the environmentally friendly termite-resistant filler developed by Hunan Xiangjiang Wire & Cable has recently passed field tests. Added with natural camphor tree extracts, this filler achieves a 100% termite repellency rate, has no toxic residues, and its validity period lasts up to 10 years.

"In the past, rural cables had to be replaced every 2 years due to termite damage, but now they don't need replacement for 10 years," introduced Zhou Ming, the project leader. The product has been promoted in rural power grids in Yiyang and Chenzhou of Hunan Province, benefiting more than 200,000 rural households and saving over 5 million yuan in annual maintenance costs.
